Mediums
Lead
Pencil:
Emma
Rhodes
uses a full range of professional lead pencils from 9H through to 9B to
layer
the tones for a photographic image.
Coloured
Pencil/Pastel:
Emma
only
uses artist quality pencils to create a light resistant image that can
be
passed down the generations.
Soft
Pastel:
A
flexible
medium like this is great to work with and as with all mediums she only
works
with those made with quality pigments. It is advisable to arrange
professional
framing in order to avoiding disturbing/smudging the image.
Watercolour:
This
beautifully delicate medium, which Emma uses on a range of acid-free
papers to
create different effects depending on the subject and background.
Egg
Tempera:
Emma
makes
her own egg tempera using only the finest pigments. It is a versatile
medium
that can be as strong or delicate as the image demands and is as
lasting as
oils.
Oil:
This
medium
can be used on canvas paper, boards or stretched canvas depending on
the
customers preference. Due to the nature of oil paints, each layer needs
to dry
completely before the next can be started. It is also advisable to
return the
painting for specialist varnishing approximately six months after
completion. |
